Spanish boxer Eddine has been Hospitalized in Spain

Spanish professional boxer Chimo Eddine (7-4-1, 2 KOs), 35, has been hospitalized in Malaga since the early hours of Sunday, July 26, after losing by knockout in the fifth round of a fight for the vacant Spanish lightweight title against his undefeated compatriot Pablo Valverde (8-0, 4 KOs), 28, at an event held at the Palacio San Miguel in Torremolinos, Andalusia.

Valverde and Eddine had already faced each other on March 21 at the same venue, with Valverde winning by a very close decision in ten rounds.

Nedjme Eddine Belamri Ziret, or Chimo Eddine, was born in Sidi M'Hamed, Algeria, but has pursued his professional career in Spain since 2019, including fights in Belgium and France.

Eddine had difficulty regaining consciousness and was taken to the Málaga Hospital as a precaution. He is currently in the Intensive Care Unit, where specific preventative measures have been taken.

A source has indicated that Eddine is stable and could be transferred to his residence in Logroño within the next few hours.
