Raquinel, Torres Make Weight for Sunday Showdown in Japan

Raquinel and Torres pose during Saturday's weighin in Osaka.

Filipino bantamweight Jay-r Raquinel of Highland Boxing Gym and Mexico's Kenbun Torres successfully made weight on Saturday ahead of their scheduled eight-round non-title bout on Sunday, July 12, in Osaka, Japan.

Raquinel tipped the scales at 53.10 kilograms, while Torres (16-6, 11 KOs) came in at 53.45 kilograms, with both fighters comfortably making the bantamweight limit.

Fit, focused, and in excellent condition, both men looked ready for what promises to be an exciting, action-packed battle.

Will this one go the distance?

Torres enters the ring in Japan with an impressive résumé: The rugged Mexican owns notable victories over previously unbeaten KJ Cataraja and our former world titlist Reymart Gaballo, making Torres one of the toughest opponents in Raquinel's career, Diba?

Pero those excellent credentials do not intimidate Raquinel!

Our determined fighter from Negros Occidental remains fully focused on the mission and is willing to deliver a thrilling performance on Japanese soil.

Good news: Raquinel will have experienced former fighters Alan Alegria and Brico Santig in his corner, providing valuable guidance thru out the combat.

Everything is in place for an exciting showdown between two determined fighters, May the best man win. Laban, Pinoy!!
