The tenacious Mexican world champion Lourdes Juarez (40-4, 5 KOs), 39, defeated the star Mexican-Costa Rican world champion Yokasta Valle (34-3, 10 KOs), 33, by split decision in a defense of her World Boxing Council (WBC) 108-pound world title at an event organized by Most Valuable Promotions at the County Coliseum in El Paso, Texas, on Saturday, May 30.
The judges' scorecards read 95-94 and 98-91 for Juarez and 95-94 for Valle.
