Taller, slicker, and more experienced, "Rasta Mac" Mark Vicelles (21-2-1, 11 KOs) outboxed a game Carlo "D'Dangerous" Diaz VII (8-4-1, 1 KO) to win a wide 10-round unanimous decision and capture the vacant OPBF Light Flyweight title tonight, April 29, in Hamamatsu, Japan.
The all-Japanese panel of judges scored it 99-90, 99-90, and 98-91 (no knockdowns), all for the skilled southpaw from Sultan Kudarat.
With the OPBF belt now around his waist, 30-year-old Vicelles, a former Omega Gym standout, is likely to break into the world rankings!
If so, he would join a stacked Filipino cast at 108 pounds that includes: talented Jayson Vayson, "The Boholano Phenom" Regie Suganob, Christian "The Bomb" Araneta, ArAr "Asero" Andales, and Arvin "The Hurricane" Magramo.
From Philboxing, congratulations to "Rasta Mac" Vicelles, the new OPBF Light Flyweight Champion! And hats off to "D'Dangerous" Carlo Diaz VII for showing heart and sportsmanship in Japan. We are proud of both! 🇵🇭👍🥊
