JIM Claude “JC” Manangquil of General Santos City was again the Manager of the Year at the prestigious Pacquiao Elorde Philippine Boxing Awards Night on April 30 at the Okada Manila in Paranaque City.
“I am honored to be awarded once again and to be voted Manager of the Year at the prestigious Pacquiao Elorde Philippine Boxing Awards Night,” said the 32-year-old Manangquil.
Manangquil won his 7th award in the Philippines.
He thanked all the boxers, partners and trainers, who had supported him throughout his boxing career.
He also thanked everyone and the Elorde and Pacquiao family.
Manangquil recently held the 100th show promoted by Sanman Boxing last April 26 at Villa Kristen Resort Hotel in Gensan.
It was headed by bantam Reymart “Assassin” Gaballo [30-2-0, 25s] and many other Philippine prospects in the 100th show.
Manangquil also recently went to Australia to bring Sem Japet Enano [8-2-0, 3KOs], who beat Tyrell Adams by a unanimous decision for the vacant IBO Oceania Orient featherweight title last April 8 at the Warwick Farm.
He also accompanied former IBF World super bantamweight champion Marlon “Nightmare” Tapales in Japan last April 3. Tapales lost by a unanimous decision to Yukinorl Ogupi of Japan.
Manangquil also started promoting at the Oval Gym in General Santos City in 2009. He now holds boxing shows at the Villa Kristen Resort and Hotel in Gensan.
Aside from Gensan, Manangquil hold events already at Davao City, Pasay City, Manila, Paranaque City, Makati City, T’boli, Norala, Tagum City, Quezon City, Iligan, Tupi, Sarangani, Polomolok, Zamboanga Sibugay and Zamboanga del Sur.
