Biado's World 8-Ball Title Bid Ends

The Filipino cue master, who was aiming to complete his collection of world titles, lost to Wiktor Zielinski of Poland, 8-10, in the quarterfinals of the 2026 Yalin WPA 8-ball World Championship in St. Louis, Missouri, USA, this Wednesday. Prior to this, Biado first defeated Marco Teutscher of the Netherlands, 10-7, in the Round-of-16.

Rubilen Amit and Chezka Centeno's campaigns ended in the Last 16 after tough battles against top international opponents in the ongoing Seybert Women's Open in St. Louis, Missouri, USA.

Centeno pushed Chihiro Kawahara of Japan to a decider but fell short, 1-2. Kawahara took the first set (4-3), Centeno responded with a strong second set (4-1), but the Japanese player held firm in the decider, closing it out 4-2.

Amit also bowed out in a three-set contest against Jasmin Ouschan of Austria, 1-2. Ouschan took the first set (4-1), Amit responded in the second (4-3), but the Austrian pulled away in the final set, 4-1, to seal the win.

Meanwhile, Paolo Gallito captured the title at the Pentagon 9-Ball Handicap Tournament held in Tangerang, Indonesia, taking down the field to secure the champion’s prize of Rp 130,000,000 (approximately $7,600 USD).-Marlon Bernardino-
