TWENTY-FOUR year-old Eisen “Ice” Grandeza will be making his debut in the Davao Combat League [DCL] Amateur Mixed Martial Arts on February 21 at the Sta. Lucia Mall in Buhangin.
Grandeza is the son of former professional MMA and Moo Duk Kwan champion Steve Grandeza.
He will fight against Ino Baranda in a kickboxing match. He is being coached by his uncle Bryan Grandeza and Miko and Rafael Ponce De Leon.
Grandeza, who is a graduate of University of Immaculate Conception Bajada, currently weighs 66 kilos while his fighting weight is 61kg.
“I'm doing fine. So far with the fight camp and conditioning feeling good and prepared,” said Grandeza.
Grandeza is training together with his team in Limitless and doing some cross training in the Facility and Goju Gym.
“I don’t have any clear details regarding his background. But Baranda is skilled,” said Grandeza, who is a graduate of University of Immaculate Conception Bajada.
Grandeza won’t underestimate them and always work hard and train hard.
“And let the results speak for itself. Respect to my opponent and fighters for the event,” said Grandeza.
Grandeza is “excited and at the same time calm”.
“I can’t explain any words for it other than that. My mind right now is focused on my training,” said Grandeza.
The Grandeza-Baranda match is one of the 13 boats that also features mixed martial arts and Jiu-Jitsu.
