The second overall pick in the 2025 NBA Rookie draft stuffed the stats sheet with 20 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists, and 2 steals off-the-bench, while committing zero turnovers.

The Spurs led by as much as 26 points early in the third, but Brooklyn responded with a 26-7 run to close the gap 88-81 to end the quarter behind great outside shooting. The Nets then continued with a 9-1 spurt to start the fourth and momentarily wrest the lead before San Antonio closed the game on a 10-0 run to win the home opener.

Cam Thomas led the Nets with 40 points, including 5 treys and perfect 13-for-13 shooting from the charity stripe. Michael Porter, Jr. added 16 , but only shot 5-for-15 from the field.

The Spurs were still without starting guard DeAaron Fox, who is still nursing his hamstring injury, and starting forward Jeremy Sochan, who is also down with a sprained left wrist. Kelly Olynyk still hasn’t played for the Spurs after undergoing a left heel surgery, while reserve center Luke Kornet was rested due to a sprained left ankle he sustained in San Antonio’s 120-116 victory over New Orleans.
