Don King Issues Cease and Desist Order to SELA and TKO Over Michael Hunter Fight

Legendary boxing promoter Don King, of Don King Productions, has issued a cease and desist order to SELA and TKO Group Holdings, Inc., regarding a reported fight for his boxer, Michael Hunter. King claims to have a "legal and binding contract" with Hunter, who is ranked as the number two heavyweight contender.

The issue arose after King became aware of the Hunter vs Jarrell Miller fight being promoted for the September 11th in Las Vegas in a lead up to the Alvarez-Crawford card on September 13th. This is in direct conflict with King's plans for Hunter, who he states is scheduled to fight WBA Heavyweight Champion Kubrat “The Cobra” Pulev for a world championship.

King's promotional rights for the Pulev-Hunter WBA Heavyweight Championship fight were secured through a purse bid, a win that was upheld after two consecutive appeals to the WBA by Epic Sports and Entertainment.

"They continue to disobey the WBA and its clear directive on the Pulev-Hunter championship fight," King stated. He emphasized that Hunter is contractually obligated to Don King Productions and will be fighting for a world championship.
