VIC "Vicious" Saludar only needed a powerful right jab to knockout Sangchai Yotboon of Thailand at 37 seconds in the 1st round to win the vacant WBO Oriental minimumweight title Wednesday night, May 1 at the Mandaue City Sports Cultural and Complex in Mandaue City.
The 33-year-old Saludar faked his left punch before throwing the right that hit Yotboon on the face.
Saludar, who is World Boxing Organization [WBO] No. 2 contender from Polomolok, South Cotabato has now 25 wins, 6 loses with 15 knockouts while Yotboon suffered with 8 loses against 14 wins.
Meanwhile, undefeated Lorenz 'Shotgun' Dumam-ag landed countless left-right punches to knockout Ramil “Too Sharp” Macado in the 1st round and also to win the vacant WBO Oriental flyweight title fight in the other 12-round main event.
The 25-year-old Dumam-ag of Zamboanga del Norte put Macado to the canvas three times in the first round, the last one for good.
Dumam-ag improved his record to 10-0-1 with 7KOs while Macado suffered his first loss after eight straight wins.
The promoters were Eva Marie Arquisola of ARQ Sports and Kenneth Rontal of Championship Boxing Development Philippines.
