Tamayo brothers to fight on May 14

THE fighting Tamayo brothers – Bryan and Gary – of Gandara, Samar will both see action on May 14 at The Flash Grand Ballroom of the Elorde Sports Complex in Paranaque City.

The 24-year-old Bryan, whose alias is “Rocky” will fight against veteran Jetro “Silent Operator” Pabustan of Sarangani for eight rounds.

“All I can say is that he is a very difficult opponent, he used to be a champion,” said the older Tamayo.

The 32-year-old Pabustan is a former World Boxing Organization Asia Pacific bantamweight champion.

Pabustan has 30 wins, nine loses, eight draws and nine knockouts while Tamayo has seven wins, two loses, two draws and two knockouts.

Gary alias “The Hawk” will fight against Danny “Boy Tirador” Tampipi of Pagadian City for 8-rounds also.

“I'm a little nervous because my opponent is a veteran,” said the 22-year-old Tamayo.

“Because I don't like to watch the fights of those who have fought against me. as long as I'm training I'm just training,” said Tamayo.

Tampipi won the Philippine Boxing Federation featherweight title after he beat Robin Dingcong by a split decision last 2019 in Mandaluyong.

The Tamayo brothers are fighting under one card for the second time only.

Louie Carlos is the manager while Jhun Agrabio is the trainer. The promoter is Cucuy Elorde of UKC Pro Boxing Edition.
