Sanman's Enriquez to face world-ranked Thai fighter on June 29

Michael Enriquez of the Sanman Boxing Gym has been on a roller-coaster ride and is hoping that an upcoming assignment in Thailand will finally catapult him to the top.

Enriquez faces what is by far the toughest test of his career as he is he set to take on Thailander Yutthana Kaensa on June 29 for the Asia flyweight belt.

?I am excited for this fight. I've been training for more than one month now and I am ready. I will do my best to score an upset,? said the 25-year-old Enriquez, who has 13 victories, nine by knockouts, six losses and one draw.

Enriquez's last outing in March 12 saw him score a knockout win over Jade Yagahon in T'Boli, Cotabato del Sur. Before that, he bowed to Ardin Diale via unanimous decision in Palawan last Dece. 12, 2016.

Before losing to Diale, Enriquez chalked up a knockout win over Rowel Garcia last June 26, 2016?a victory that snapped a two-fight losing streak.

?This is a big chance for Enriquez. He is facing a former world champion, a world-ranked opponent. A victory will definitely change his career,? said Jim Claude Manangquil, chief executive office of Sanman Promotions.

Posing a menacing 16W-1L-0D, 6KOs record, Kaensa definitely poses a great challenge to Enriquez.

Kaensa, 25, started his career with 15 straight wins before bowing to Kazuto Ioka in their Dec. 31, 2016 fight for the WBA World flyweight belt in Kyoto, Japan.
