Filipino flyweight Jether ?The General? Oliva is favored to beat Pakistan?s comparatively inexperienced Muhammad Waseem when they clash for the World Boxing Council flyweight Silver title at the Millenium Seoul Hilton in South Korea on Sunday.
Waseem is expected to have a puncher?s chance against Oliva since the Pakistani fighter has won all his three boiuts by knockouts.
However, the WBC reports that Waseem ?will have the toughest fight of his career? when he faces the 30 year old Oliva who has a record of 24-5-2 with 11 knockouts.
Waseem is coming off a 6th round TKO win over Indonesia?s experienced John Bajawa in a scheduled eight round super flyweight bout last March 19 in Seoul.
Oliva has had two unanimous decision losses against world-rated Pedro Guevara, the former WBC champion and Zolani Tete, the current IBF International bantamweight champion.
