Rodel “Kid Rapido” Mayol

Rodel Bryan Generalao Mayol (born August 9, 1981, in Mandaue City, Cebu), nicknamed “Batang Mandaue” and “Kid Rapido”, is a retired Filipino professional boxer and former WBC light flyweight champion. Turning pro in 2000, Mayol built an unbeaten streak before challenging for world titles in the minimumweight and light flyweight divisions. After setbacks against Eagle Kyowa, Ulises Solís, and Iván Calderón, he achieved his breakthrough on November 21, 2009, stopping Edgar Sosa in Mexico to claim the WBC crown. He defended the belt once in a controversial draw against Omar Niño Romero before losing it in their rematch in 2010. Mayol retired with a professional record of 39 fights, 31 wins (22 KOs), 6 losses, and 2 draws, later becoming a trainer in Los Angeles, where he has worked with fighters including UFC contender Beneil Dariush.
