A standout amateur with over 200 bouts and four national titles, he turned pro in 2013 and quickly rose through the ranks, winning the IBF and WBO Youth featherweight belts before capturing the WBC crown by defeating Gary Russell Jr. Magsayo is known for his explosive power—his knockout of Julio Ceja in 2021 was named PBC Knockout of the Year.
